The Lions finished 26th out of 75 teams at the prestigious Eastern States tournament at Sullivan County Community College Saturday. Rrok Ndokaj took seventh in the 170-pound class.

No. 2 Brooklyn Tech (11-1)
The Engineers defeated Bergtraum, Cardozo and Eagle Academy to reach the PSAL final, where they will attempt to win a second consecutive city title against rival Grand Street Campus at John Bowne HS.

After handily beating MLK and Petrides, the Wolves edged Wingate, 35-32, to reach the PSAL final and earn a rematch with rival Brooklyn Tech, which beat them in last year’s title match.

No. 4 Wingate (14-2)
Wingate defeated Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy and then Forest Hills, but hopes of reaching the PSAL final were crushed by a three-point defeat to Grand Street Campus in the semifinals.

The Eagles soared to the PSAL semifinals by beating Tottenville and Madison before falling to defending champion Brooklyn Tech. Coached by John McGarry, Eagle faces Wingate in the PSAL’s third-place match Tuesday.

The Rams knocked off Stepinac last Tuesday and will now compete against the best from Long Island and Buffalo in the CHSAA duals this weekend at Chaminade.

After handily defeating Ivy League rival Poly Prep, Horace Mann knocked off Curtis and Putnam Valley before falling to No. 5 Eagle Academy in the Horace Mann Duals Friday.

No. 8 Petrides (10-2)
Petrides defeated Townsend Harris, 61-21, but then fell to Grand Street Campus, 60-18, in the PSAL quarterfinals. The Panthers rallied from that disappointment to take second place in the Wingate Martin Luther King Invitational Monday.

The Golden Knights knocked off Bryant, 48-36, in a preliminary match, but lost a heartbreaker to Eagle Academy in the PSAL quarterfinals, 51-33.
