"Now that summer is here, MSG Varsity will be giving you a look back at some of the best players, teams, and performances from the Brooklyn/Bronx region during the 2009-2010 school year."
NEW YORK – Although losing to Cardozo, 2-0, in the PSAL Boys Volleyball championship, the boys of the Bronx Science volleyball team had nothing to hang their heads over and their season will be remembered by many at the school.
Fourth-seeded Science reached the PSAL championship game for the first time since 1987 -- the first year the league held a championship game in boys volleyball.
It also won the highly-regarded Seward Park tournament in early April and placed third in the equally prestigious Tottenville tournament later that month. Science then topped perennial power Regis to take the CHSAA Classic a week after its third-place finish at Tottenville.
