Logan Williamson doesn’t have a split personality, but he does take on a different persona based on the season.

In the fall, Williamson is trying to get into the end zone for the Fordham Prep football team. In the spring, the rising senior’s job is to help keep goals out of net as one of the top defenders in CHSAA lacrosse.

The two-sport star, who was named first team All-City in lacrosse by MSG Varsity, has already locked up a college lacrosse scholarship, verbally committing to Fairfield University last year.

Williamson, who was named Defenseman of the Year in the CHSAA Class AA by league coaches, chose the Stags over UMass, Villanova and Dartmouth.

He returns to the gridiron this fall as one of the Rams top running backs. A year ago, he rushed for eight touchdowns, had four receiving TDs and even threw for another, helping lead Fordham Prep to its first-ever CHSFL Class AA title.

In the thrilling championship game against Kellenberg, Williamson rushed for two scores and caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from James McHale with 18.1 seconds remaining to pull the Rams within one point.

As was the case in a regular-season overtime win over the Firebirds, Fordham Prep coach Pete Gorynski went for two points and the win and again called on Williamson, who caught McHale’s pitch and then found Jarred Moorer in the back of the end zone for the winning two-point conversion.

“It feels pretty relieving,” Williamson said after the game. “We really wanted to do it for the seniors this season.”
