No. 1 Martin Luther King (16-0-0)
An undefeated season, a No. 3 national ranking and another PSAL title, just another year in the life of the best soccer team in New York City. Tarek Beckles, Kerfala Sylla and Ibrahim Diaby scored for the Knights in a 3-2 win against Francis Lewis in the title game.

No. 2 St. Francis Prep (17-1-1)
The Terriers were denied a third championship this season when they fell to Fordham Prep, 1-0, in the CHSAA state semifinals, ruining St. Francis Prep’s chances of an undefeated season.

No. 3 Fordham Prep (13-3-5)
Dylan Cope, Spencer Heitmann, Greg McNamara and Mark Kramarchuk closed out their storied high school careers with the first CHSAA state championship in school history, beating St. John the Baptist in the final.

No. 4 Francis Lewis (15-1-0)
A 2-0 deficit to MLK is usually a death sentence, but the Patriots battled back to tie the game and had chances to take the lead in a 3-2 loss in the PSAL Class A final. Still, a spectacular season for the perennial powerhouse.

No. 5 Bayside (12-3-1)
Star striker Santiago Moore, who tore his meniscus earlier in the postseason, was sorely missed in a 3-1 loss to rival Francis Lewis in the PSAL Class A semifinals. Despite the loss, the future looks very bright for the Commodores.

No. 6 Collegiate (14-2-3)
Ray Voelkel just wins. He led the Dutchmen to a second straight NYSAISAA soccer title and now he’ll coach the four-time defending New York State Federation Class B boys basketball champs.

The Flyers season ended on a down note, an 8-0 loss to MLK, but kudos to goalkeeper Jonathan Rico, who made several spectacular saves in the PSAL Class A semifinal loss.

The Blue Demons hopes of repeating as PSAL Class A champions went up in smoke when Beacon fell to Bayside on penalty kicks in the quarterfinals.

No. 9 Archbishop Molloy (8-4-5)
Molloy’s season ended in the CHSAA Class AA intersectional semifinals, but led by Denes Kostel and Sammy Carter in the attacking third, the Stanners should again contend for title next year.

No. 10 Christ the King (10-6-3)
The Royals were defeated by eventual CHSAA Class AA intersectional champions St. Francis Prep in the semifinals, but the boys from Middle Village could be poised for another trip to Belson with a ton of returning talent.

The Raiders lost to rival Fordham Prep in the CHSAA Class AA quarterfinals, but should return several key players, including junior midfielder Devin Pierre. Vincent Catapano’s club will again be a force to be reckoned with.

The Lions captured their first Ivy League title since 2008, but fell short of the NYSAISAA crown, losing to Collegiate in the semifinals.
