No. 1 St. Francis Prep (12-1)

The Terriers didn’t win the CHSAA Class AA state tournament, but led by Talia Colasante, St. Francis Prep reached the final, the first city team to do so since Christ the King in 2000.

No. 2 Archbishop Molloy (10-3)

The Stanners couldn’t have come closer to knocking St. Francis Prep off its perch atop Brooklyn/Queens, but fell in a five-set thriller. Molloy has a young core back, which will combine with the JV champs.

No. 3 Cardozo (14-0)

The Judges captured their second straight PSAL title Monday at Hunter College and, as an added bonus, it came against rival Francis Lewis. It was Cardozo’s first postseason win against the Patriots.

No. 4 Fieldston (13-0)

Led by Arianna Francis, who had 13 kills and five aces and Lisa Slivken, who had seven kills, the Eagles claimed their first NYSAISAA title since 2002.

No. 5 Francis Lewis (11-4)

After an injury-plagued regular season, the Patriots turned their season around after the Grover Cleveland tournament and made a spirited run to final. Arnie Rosenbaum’s squad didn’t win a sixth title since 2001, but there’s plenty of returning players who gained valuable experience.

No. 6 Stuyvesant (14-1)

The Vixens didn’t send retiring coach Phil Fisher out with a championship, but they come agonizingly close to a berth in the final. The top seed in the PSAL Class A playoffs, Stuyvesant was upset by Lewis in the semifinals.

No. 7 Susan Wagner (15-1)

For a second straight year, the Falcons season ended with a loss to Cardozo. A year ago, it was in the title game and this year it happened in the semifinals with the Judges winning two airtight sets.

No. 8 Brearley (12-1)

The Beavers fell just short of repeating as NYSAISAA champions, losing to Fieldston in the final. Catherine Egan had 18 kills and five blocks in her final high school match.

No. 9 Fontbonne Hall (7-5)

Four of the Bonnies five losses came against St. Francis Prep and Archbishop Molloy, the top two teams in the city.

No. 10 Bronx Science (14-1)

Dominique Watt had nine kills and four digs and Mary Platt added six kills and four digs for the Wolverines in a quarterfinal loss to Francis Lewis. It was Bronx Science’s fifth trip to the quarterfinals in the past decade.

No. 11 Grover Cleveland (12-1)

Despite a disappointing 25-7, 25-7 loss to Susan Wagner in the quarterfinals, Anna Dawidowska helped put Grover Cleveland on the volleyball map. The first order of business for the Tigers is trying to replace senior outside hitter Carolina Alfonso Reyes.

No. 12 Hunter College HS (14-1)

Cardozo went on to win a second straight PSAL title, but the Headhunters were oh-so-close to pulling off a quarterfinal upset, losing to the Judges in three sets. Belinda Zhou had 14 digs and Tiffany Ramos added 13 digs and eight kills in that loss.

No. 13 Midwood (11-2)

Veronica Ceselka had seven digs and two kills for the Hornets in a 25-15, 25-22 loss to Stuyvesant in the PSAL Class A quarterfinals.

No. 14 Brooklyn Tech (11-1)

Colette Littell had 13 kills and six digs and Amy Ye added 14 digs and eight assists in a 25-15, 25-19 loss to Hunter College HS in the PSAL Class A second round.

The Hilltoppers were the fourth best team in Brooklyn/Queens, behind No. 1 St. Francis Prep, No. 2 Archbishop Molloy and No. 9 Fontbonne.
