    1. St. Anthony’s (CHSHL 11-0)

The Friars had their first scare of the season by just edging out NYC’s Fordham Prep, 4-3 on Saturday night. This coming two days after an easy 8-0 defeat of Chaminade, its second in as many meetings with the Flyers.

    2. Connetquot/Sayville (15-1)

The T-Birds are flying high after their big 5-3 win over Smithtown/Hauppauge last Monday night. Brian Fenster’s two goals and big goaltending from the duo of Brett Ficken and Trevor Von Kampen assured the Connetquot/Sayville club of holding every tiebreaker in its favor should both teams end up deadlocked at the end of the regular season.

Next: Ward Melville at The Rinx (Wednesday, 9:00 p.m.)

    3. Smithtown/Hauppauge (17-1)

The Bulls temporarily moved back into sole possession of first place with an easy 14-2 win over winless Ward Melville, and followed it up with a victory over Middle Country. They’ll travel north next to face off with Orange County West from the Hudson Valley League in a must-win contest.

Next: Orange County West at Ice Time Sports Complex – Newburgh (Saturday, 6:00 p.m.)

    4. Syosset (11-3)

The Braves have turned it on at just the right time and have won their last four games at a combined score of 45-9. Jake Esposito netted four goals in their most recent win over Great Neck. Sophomore Corey Hoffman still leads all of Long Island in scoring with 34 goals, 41 assists and 75 points.

Next: Bellmore-Merrick at Newbridge Ice Rink (Monday, 9:00 p.m.)

    5. Massapequa (10-3)

The Chiefs completed a two-game sweep of Jericho last week, defeating the Jayhawks easily in a 17-0 win. Brenden Cummings led the Chiefs scoring with a hat trick and an assist. All but two skaters on the ice found its way onto the scoresheet.

Next: Garden City @ Bethpage Ice Rink (Tuesday, 9:15 p.m.)

    6. Long Beach (10-3)

The Marines split a weekend series of games, falling to Cold Spring Harbor 2-1 on Sunday, but got back on the winning track to top Bellmore-Merrick, 3-1. They'll look to avenge Sunday's loss in a rematch with CSH on Monday in their home rink.

    7. St. Joseph by the Sea (4-5-2)

The Vikings were surging, that is, until they met Fordham Prep, which handed them a 9-2 defeat Friday night at Abe Stark Rink. Sea is now tied with archrival Monsignor Farrell for the fourth and final playoff sport in the CHSHL ‘A’ Division, just three points in front of Fordham Prep.

Next: St. Anthony’s at Abe Stark Rink (Saturday, 7:15 p.m.)

    8. Monsignor Farrell (4-4-2)

Sean Gargin scored a pair of first-period goals and Pallis Priola and Rocco Papapietro also found the back of the net for the Lions in a 4-4 tie with Chaminade Monday night at World Ice Arena in Flushing.

Next: St. Anthony’s at Abe Stark Rink (Friday, 8:45 p.m.)

    9. Oceanside (10-4-1)

Chalk it up to a long layoff, but the Sailors had a tough time with Bellmore-Merrick, falling to the Bulldogs 6-3 Sunday night. Oceanside has to look forward to a meeting with East Williston in a game that could determine leadership of the Liberty Division going forward.

Next: East Williston at Iceworks (Saturday, 1:30 p.m.)

    10. Fordham Prep (3-7-1)

After opening the season with six losses, including a few one-goal defeats, the Rams have caught fire. Fordham Prep is 3-1-1 in its last five, which includes a 9-2 victory against St. Joseph by the Sea. The lone loss? A 4-3 defeat to top-ranked St. Anthony’s on Saturday.

Next: Chaminade at Playland Ice Casino (Saturday, 4:15 p.m.)
