Rawa leads Locust Valley past Friends

Is there anything Alex Rawa can not do?
Rawa, the senior multi-sport Locust Valley who was recently named to the NYSSWA Class B football all-state first team, led all players on the court with 19 points as the Falcons knocked off defending NY State Class C champion Friends Academy, 59-45.
The standout guard who averages over 17 points in his eight previous games scored 15 of his 19 points in the first quarter alone.
It was a lead Locust Valley would not surrender from there on in.
Rawa turned his attention to finding the bottom of the net to dishing the ball to the his teammates and pulling down rebounds, recording eight each on the evening.
The Falcons excelled from beyond the arc, nailing 11 three-point shots on the even. Matt Campanella led Locust Valley with 4 treys, while Rawa had three from three-point land. Joe Gilio and Glenn Hefter both had two apiece.
Campanella, who is second on team in scoring was not far behind Rawa’s team scoring lead. He added 16 points on the evening with 2 assists and 4 rebounds.
Marc Godlis led Friends Academy with 18 points, with two three-pointers, while Tyler Sehring was not far behind with 17 points.
Locust Valley improved to 6-3 overall and 5-1 in the conference, while Friends Academy fell to 7-2 overall and an equal 5-1 conference record.
Both teams will gear up for a rematch on February 10.
