    GAME 1                                                                                                                                          

    Girls: Harding 46, Central 37                                                                                                   

    Trailing for the first time all game with 2:40 remaining, the Presidents (4-12) closed on a 10-0 run to finally pull away from their city rival. Senior guard Neisha Franco connected on the go-ahead free throw with just over two minutes left and finished with a game-high 17 points, 10 of them coming in the first quarter. Senior Jhanell Martin had 11 points and 10 rebounds in the victory, and sophomore Brae Stewart added eight points – including a steal and lay-in down the stretch to help seal the win. Senior guard Timisha Graham led the Hilltoppers (2-14) with 12 points before fouling out midway through the fourth quarter. Demere Hunt-Stephens and Amanda McKenzie had eight points apiece, and Jalisa Johnson contributed six for Central, which trailed by as many as 10 midway through the third quarter before starting its comeback.                                                      

    GAME 2                                                                                                                                        

    Boys: Central 71, Harding 52                                                                                                      

    Led by freshman Marcus Blackwell’s 19 points, four players finished in double figures for the Hilltoppers (8-4), who jumped out to an early 8-3 lead and never looked back en route to clinching a state tournament berth. Sha’Quan Bretoux added 12 points, and fellow sophomore Tyler Ancrum showed why he’s emerging as one of the FCIACs top point guards with 11 points and several highlight-reel assists on the night. Yassar Abdullah also had 11 points and Josh Wilkerson had nine. Steven Walker and Davaughn McAllister both 10 points, and Duke Francois had eight for the Presidents (2-11).

    Boys: St. Joseph 70, Bassick 61

    The Cadets (12-0) finished the game on a 13-4 to remain undefeated. Towson-bound senior Timajh Parker had 24 points and 17 rebounds in the victory, which was aided by a technical foul on Bassick midway through the fourth quarter. Demetrius Thomas had a monster game for the Lions (10-3) with 24 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks.
