Live game primer: Central vs. Stamford
MSGVarsity.com will be live-streaming an early-season FCIAC boys basketball showdown between Bridgeport Central and Stamford on Friday at 7 p.m.
The host Hilltoppers are coming off a 66-64 season-opening loss to perennial power Trinity Catholic.
Shaquan Bretox led Central with 21 points, while Tyler Ancrum had 17 and Orhan Cecunjanin added 12.
The Black Knights fell to two-time defending league champion Bassick in their opener.
It was the debut of Dan Melzer, who took over for Jim Moriarty -- Stamford's longtime and successful coach who stepped down last spring to become the school's Athletic Director.
Ancel Nevers scored 14 points for Stamford. Jelani Tonge added 12 points and eight rebounds, and Evans Antoine contributed 11 points.
