Livecast primer: FCIAC lax championships
MSGVarsity.com will be live-streaming the FCIAC lacrosse championships at Brien McMahon High School on Friday beginning at 4 p.m.
In the first game, rivals Greenwich and Darien face off for the girls title in a rematch of their regular-season thriller when the Cardinals pulled out a 13-12 victory.
Third-seeded Greenwich (16-2) held off defending FCIAC champion Wilton, 11-10, in Monday's semifinals and will be looking for its first league crown since 2003.
Fourth-seeded Darien (13-5) handed New Canaan its first loss of the season with a 15-9 semifinal round victory, and the surging Blue Wave is aiming to add to its league-best 10 FCIAC championships since 1993.
The 7 p.m. nightcap matches a pair of 15-3 teams as New Canaan battles Ridgefield for the boys title.
Seeded No. 3, the red-hot Rams won their 12th straight game with an 11-6 victory over Wilton in Tuesday's semifinals. New Canaan is chasing its eighth league crown, and first since 2003.
Meanwhile, the fourth-seeded Tigers will be making their fourth trip to the FCIAC finals in five years after a dramatic 12-11 victory over mighty Darien, which suffered its first in-state loss of the season in that contest.
New Canaan won the regular-season showdown between the squads, 10-5, two weeks ago.
