Rams Take FCIAC Boys Golf Title

Final Team Scores: 1. New Canaan 300; 2. Greenwich 308; 2. Staples 308; 4. Ridgefield 326; 5. Darien  334; 6. Trumbull  338; 7. Fairfield Warde 359; 8. St. Joseph 366.
BRIDGEPORT -- The New Canaan Rams won their first FCIAC Boys Golf title since 2006 Thursday at Fairchild Wheeler GC. Seeded No. 4, Bill Brown’s team won by eight strokes ahead of Greenwich and Staples.
Because of the windy conditions, some of the coaches –in an unscientific poll – predicted that the winning team score would be over 310. But the top three finishers were all under, led by New Canaan’s 300.
The top four scores on each team count towards the team total.
Individual scores for the Top Three are:
 New Canaan – Brian Tohir 36-36-72
                            Ben Katz   36-38-74
                            CJ Swift     37-38-75
                            Alex Geanakos 38-41-79
 
Greenwich – Stephen Pastore 38-37- 75
                         Danny Guise   38-39-77
                        Noah Henderson   39-39-78
                         Paul Pastore   38-40-78
 
 Staples –  Andrew Gai   36-35-71
                    Austin Alianello   37-78-75
                    Brian Worgast   40-40-80
                    Kirk Massie   42-40-82
                 
 Notes: Greenwich’s Danny Guise was named FCIAC MVP based on average score for the entire season.
