    North Shore's Vizza finishes 8th to lead LI

    Vizza placed eighth in 18 minutes, 26.4 seconds in the Bowdoin Park meet, one that pits all public school classes and private schools against each other in one 5-kilometer test of superiority. She was the highest Long Island finisher. Corning's Jessica Lawson won in 17:46.8.

    DeCicco leads Sachem East back to states

    DeCicco won the 5-kilometer Class A race in 19 minutes, 8.42 seconds. Her finish helped Sachem East take the team title with 43 points, qualifying them for the state public school championships, scheduled for next Nov. 14, at Monroe-Woodbury High School in Central Valley.

    Massapequa's Retting wins Nassau A state qualifier

    Rettig won the 5-kilometer race in 19 minutes, 12.19 seconds. The victory qualified her for the state public school championship, scheduled for Saturday at Monroe-Woodbury High School in Central Valley.

    Kellenberg's Lewin wins CHSAA XC title

    It all added up to an NSCHSAA cross-country title when Lewin won the 5-kilometer race in 20 minutes, 45.63 seconds at Sunken Meadow State Park. She also was the first of four top-10 finishers for Kellenberg, which won a second straight championship.
