Battle of the Doors at Stissing Mountain
Pine Plains is always trying to have their students and staff involved with activities, especially during the holiday season. One way in which Pine Plains tries to get students and staff involved together is during the winter month of December, right before Christmas Break. Students and staff decorate classroom doors with the hopes of making the best decorated door.
On the day before Christmas Break, during the Reindeer Games and Faculty Follies, other traditions that are strong at Stissing Mountain, the doors are scored and the winner then announced.
This year, Mr. Simmons, our Tech-Ed and Construction Teacher, won the award for Best Decorated Door.
This event and tradition at Pine Plains is an activity that not many school districts in the area participate in, however the school feels strongly toward the continuation of traditions at Stissing Mountain.
