|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Yorktown | 8-2 | 1 |
Huskers ride a four-game winning streak into today's showdown against defending Section 1 Class A champ Mahopac. Marquette-bound attackman Conor Gately has been unstoppable during the stretch, racking up an astonishing 32 points (9G, 23A). |
2 | Lakeland/Panas | 8-3 | 4 |
L/P's no-name defense has quietly become the best in Section 1. The Rebels, who limited high-scoring Bronxville to three goals, get another test against John Jay-CR this afternoon. |
3 | John Jay-CR | 7-4 | 2 |
Longstick middie Jack Lambert is a tremendous weapon in transition, but John Jay-CR has to get more out of its base 6-on-6 offense. The Indians struggled to score against Ridgefield and Mahopac. |
4 | Somers | 7-5 | 3 |
Coach Lew Janavey's squad has lost three of their last four. On the plus side, they all came against nationally-ranked teams in Niskayuna, Yorktown and St. Anthony's. Somers will look to bounce back against Mahopac Thursday. |
5 | Bronxville | 9-1 | 6 |
Broncos rebounded from a deflating 8-3 loss to Lakeland/Panas with a shocking 9-7 win over Mahopac. It was arguably the biggest victory in program history. |
6 | Mahopac | 8-3 | 5 |
After ripping through a soft early-season schedule, the Indians have come back down to earth. 'Pac rides a three-game losing streak into today's matchup against Yorktown. |
7 | Brewster | 6-5 | 7 |
Winners of six of their last seven, the Bears are peaking at the right time. |
8 | Suffern | 9-2 | 9 |
Make it six straight wins for the Mounties, who are coming off a thrilling 8-7 OT victory over Fordham Prep. |
9 | Iona Prep | 6-5 | 8 |
Gaels have won four of their last five, taking full advantage of a lull in the schedule. But today's matchup at powerhouse St. Anthony's will be a different story. |
10 | Arlington | 4-5 | NR |
Tough early-season schedule has started to payoff for Arlington, which has won three straight after starting out the year 1-5. Last week's 15-6 win over Putnam Valley was big for coach Don Connolly's burgeoning program. |
