RANK TEAM REC LW COMMENTS
1 John Jay-EF 12-0 1

The Patriots have a pair of matchups on the schedule this week with Our Lady of Lourdes. This team is rolling right along as they move in on a second straight title.

2 Pearl River 12-0 2

Sophomore pitcher Mandy McCarthy has been as good as anybody in Section 1 this season. She’s allowed just two earned runs in 50 innings and struck out 61 for the four-time champs.

3 Tappan Zee 10-2 3

Even with a setback to Harrison, the Dutchies hold their No. 3 spot. Harrison is on a run and TZ has recently posted wins over Ursuline and South, so they really can’t drop below.

4 Ursuline 11-2 5

The Koalas are past the grueling stretch of their schedule and should be able to build some momentum — and help their seeding — for the Section 1 Class A tournament.

5 Clarkstown South 10-1 6

South continued its stellar season with wins over North Rockland and White Plains in the last week. The Vikings head upstate this weekend for the Morabito tournament.

6 Rye Neck 12-0 9

Panthers coach Joan Spedafino won her 400 th career game over the weekend in dramatic fashion — a no-hitter by ace Jess Calvini. Things are just going Rye Neck’s way this season.

7 Marlboro 10-1 7

The Dukes knocked off Highland on Monday, 7-1, to continue their tear through Section 9. Emily McDonough went 3 for 4 to push her season average to .659.

8 Ketcham 8-2 4

The Indians drop down the ranks following a surprising 1-0 loss to Carmel. They’ll have their chance to climb back up as they travel this weekend to Herkimer of the prestigious Morabito tournament.

9 Pelham 9-2 NR

The Pelicans enter the Top 10 after impressive wins over previously-ranked Eastchester and a streaking Valhalla and Harrison squads. The win over Valhalla came in their final at-bat.

10 Brewster 11-2 NR

It’s time to give the Bears their due. Their only losses have come to John Jay-East Fishkill and Ketcham, and they will make a serious run at a Top 3 seed in the Class A playoffs.
