Preseason favorites
Monroe-Woodbury:The Crusaders return five golfers that qualified for the Section 9 championship. They had a staggering nine golfers qualify for sectionals from a team that went 16-0 and had four sub-200 rounds and four more sub-205 rounds. The Crusaders have won the past two OCIAA Division I titles.
Warwick: The Wildcats have won at least a share of the past seven OCIAA Division II titles. Warwick returns a talented, deep and veteran team.
OCIAA golfers to watch
Nick Marotta, Monroe-Woodbury, Jr: As a sophomore, Marotta led the Crusaders with a 3.1 stroke-over-par average. Marotta tied for ninth at the Section 9 championship, but lost in a playoff to advance to his first state tournament appearance.
Tom McHugh, Monroe-Woodbury, Sr: A 2010 state qualifier, McHugh finished fourth in both the OCIAA and Section 9 championship.
Danny Downing, Warwick, Sr.: Downing was Warwick’s MVP last year, reaching the first day of the Section 9 tournament.

*Eric Seitz is a two-time state qualifier and Rob McCutcheon made the state team last season.
Important dates
OCIAA Tournament: May 17 at Swan Lake.
Section 9 Tournament: First round – May 23 at Villa Roma Country Club; Championship round – May 25 at Casperkill Country Club.
State Tournament: June 4-6 at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University.
Federation Tournament: June 12 at Bethpage Black Course in Bethpage, Long Island.
