Warwick HS Student-Athlete of the Week: Todd Uckermark
Warwick HS is proud to honor sophomore Todd Uckermark as this week’s Warwick HS Student-Athlete of the Week sponsored locally by ALLSTATE Insurance Bill Garcia Agency. Uckermark’s accomplishments raised the bar for the pole vaulters in the state. Todd vaulted 15 feet to win the Orange County League Championship this past week and followed it up with a first place finish at the Section 9 Meet at Middletown on Thursday. Uckermark becomes only the second pole vaulter in the past 25 years to clear 15 feet in Section 9. Todd is a three season track athlete (cross country, indoor and outdoor track) and has been recognized as a scholar-athlete for all three seasons. The Wildcat Boys Track Team finished first in the County Championship.
Todd maintains a 93 unweighted grade point average and is taking Honors Math and History. During the week he can often be found training on the track with Coach Potter or with the “Hudson Valley Flying Circus,” which is the top pole vault training site in New York State (Operated by Coach Tim St. Lawrence).
