James Madison University – This is Stacey Bedell.
The star William Floyd running back/defensive back announced his commitment to the university Thursday night on the Long Island edition of High School SportsDesk.
Bedell broke numerous records in his senior year en route to a Class I Long Island Championship. He ran for an LIC-record 412 yards and scored four touchdowns in the Colonials' crowning 54-47 win over East Meadow.
The co-winner of the 2011 Hansen Award, given the most outstanding football player in Suffolk County, Bedell finished 2011 with 2,532 rushing yards -- the third-highest total in Suffolk history. He also amassed 39 touchdowns and two 2-point conversion runs for 238 overall points.
He had originally verbally committed to Villanova University in July, but withdrew his commitment in early September.
