Garden City Maroon won its seventh consecutive Nassau girls golf championship, finishing with a score of 851 Tuesday at Bethpage Green. Syosset was second and Manhasset third.
Syosset freshman Elizabeth Choi won the individual championship with a score of 154. Choi shot a four-over 75 in the first round Monday and her 79 Tuesday was good enough for the title.
The Maroon team was led by sophomore Samantha Sessa, who finished in second place individually with a 36-hole score of 159, and senior Marisa Cameron, who finished third with a score of 163.
"I'm very happy for the girls," coach Reid Sclafani said. "They've been working hard for a long time. We had high expectations this year, and so far they've lived up to them."
Along with Sessa and Cameron, Maroon's Alex Michielini (173), a senior, and sophomore Brittany Burke (176) finished in the top nine to qualify for states along with teammates Mackenzie Horl, a junior, and Laura Ketigian, a senior, as the top two alternates for the tournament. All six golfers were given All-County honors.
Garden City Maroon will face the winner of the Suffolk championship in the Long Island Championship on May 29 at Sunken Meadow Park.
