RANK TEAM REC LW COMMENTS
1 St. Anthony (NJ) 21-1 1

2 Hudson Catholic (NJ) 23-1 2

The Hawks were thorough on both ends of the floor Sunday to knock South Jersey's Paulsboro from the undefeated ranks, 77-47, at the Prime Time Shootout. Georgetown-bound swing Reggie Cameron popped in 31 points and sophomore Nassir Barrino had 12.

3 Christ the King (NYC) 20-2 4

For a second time this season, the Royals pulled off a thrilling win against Bishop Loughlin, winning 72-71 at home Sunday. Next: Acorn (Wednesday, 4 p.m.)

Long Island Lutheran topped Lincoln this week in a Top 5 Tri-State battle

Star guard Joel Hernandez suffered an ankle sprain early in last Sunday's Bergen Jamboree win over Cresskill and likely won't return until the semifinals on Sunday vs. St. Mary. Shaakir Lindsey and Myles McLeod will have to carry the load tonight against Hackensack.

7 Cardinal Hayes (NYC) 16-6 7

The Cardinals bounced back from a loss to Iona Prep by beating Mount St. Michael, 86-68 Thursday. Next: Fordham Prep (Tuesday, 4 p.m.)

8 Seton Hall Prep (NJ) 18-2 9

Princeton-bound Spencer Weisz scaled 1,000 career points last Tuesday in a 73-70, double-OT win over Newark Tech, and he posted two double-doubles in the week. Freshman guard Temple Gibbs averaged 21.3 points over the last three games.

9 Roselle Catholic (NJ) 16-4 12

Syracuse-bound forward Tyler Roberson collected 16 points and 12 rebounds Sunday to power the Lions past then East Brunswick, 60-49, at the Prime Time Shootout. Guards Hakim Saintil and Asante Gist combined for 25 points and eight assists in the win.

10 Elizabeth (NJ) 14-4 14

Senior guard Hakeem Rogers has averaged 19.5 points to lead the Minutemen to four straight wins since an overtime loss to Roselle Catholic. He, Damon Miraud and Isaiah Davis look to avenge a December loss to Linden Wednesday night at home.

11 South Shore (NYC) 20-5 11

The Vikings beat Robeson before ending their regular season with a close loss at Lincoln. Next: Banneker, Borough quarterfinals (Tuesday, 5 p.m.)

12 Bishop Loughlin (NYC) 16-5 8

The Lions lost back-to-back league games last week, falling at home to Molloy and dropping a thriller at Christ the King. Next: Iona Prep (Tuesday, 6 p.m.)

13 Mount Vernon (NY) 16-1 13

The Knights will almost certainly miss out on the No. 1 seed in AA but can lock down a 2 or 3 seed with wins this week against White Plains and New Rochelle. The matchup with the Huguenots on Wednesday will be a good pre-playoff test for the eight-time champs.

14 East Brunswick (NJ) 19-2 10

Jake Krantz scored 14 points and Rob Ukawuba had 12 points, four assists in the Bears' 60-49 loss to Roselle Catholic Sunday. They launch their Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament bid Thursday vs. the winner of the Iselin Kennedy-Perth Amboy game.

15 The Patrick School (NJ) 19-3 15

18 Paterson Eastside (NJ) 19-1 NR

Versatile guard Jetor Brown and hard-working forward Quatier Jackson have led the Ghosts to six straight wins since their eight-point loss to Teaneck Jan. 21. Top-seeded Eastside faces DePaul at noon Saturday in the Passaic County Tournament semifinals at Paterson Kennedy.

19 Jefferson (NYC) 20-4 20

Look out because the Orange Wave is making their run, beating Lincoln and Boys to end the regular season. Next: Bedford Academy, Borough quarterfinals (Tuesday, 4 p.m.)

20 Molloy (NYC) 17-6 NR

The Stanners proved a home win against Loughlin was no fluke, beating the Lions in Fort Greene, 64-62, last Tuesday. Next: Mount St. Michael (Tuesday, 4 p.m.)

Tri-State girls basketball Top 20 - Feb. 11

RANK TEAM REC LW COMMENTS
1 Ossining (NY) 14-4 2

The Pride ended their regular season on a high note, cruising past Irvington behind a big performance from, who else, Saniya Chong. Chong posted a near triple-double, but so did freshman Shadeen Samuels. If that game was a preview of things to come, Ossining may cruise to the state semifinals.

2 Long Island Lutheran (LI) 16-3 3

The Crusaders had continued to climb up the Tri-State Top 20 by knocking off previously top-ranked Shabazz

3 Shabazz (NJ) 21-1 1

The Bulldogs were handed their first loss on Sunday from Long Island Lutheran, which pulled away in the fourth quarter to score a 61-50 triumph despite the efforts of Zaire O’Neil and Naquaiyyah Teague. O’Neil, a junior forward, finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds while Teague, a senior point guard, had 11 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

4 Christ the King (NYC) 14-7 5

Taylor Butigian had 13 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks in a 45-44 win over Bishop Ford Sunday. Next: Bishop Loughlin (Wednesday, 5:45 p.m.)

5 Bishop Ford (NYC) 17-6 4

The Falcons missed a chance to wrap up first place in Brooklyn/Queens Division I with a loss at Christ the King. Next: South Shore @ Gauchos Gym (Sunday, 2 p.m.)

6 Gill St. Bernards (NJ) 16-3 6

While her older sister Taylor generates a lot of headlines with her all-round play, Morgan Rooks is beginning to get people to notice her work ethic inside. The 5-10 sophomore, who complements her 6-0 junior sibling, pulled down 10 rebounds last week against both Hillsborough and Watchung Hills to aid victories.

7 Point Pleasant Boro (NJ) 21-1 7

Noted most often over the last four years for her scoring and unlimited range, Kelly Hughes isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. The 5-11 senior guard is clearing 10.4 a game and enjoyed a three-game stretch where she averaged 12.6 to go with her 24.6 points per outing.

8 Red Bank Catholic (NJ) 20-1 8

Awarded the top seed for the Shore Conference Tournament recognizes both the strong campaign put forth by the Caseys and the quality veteran cohesiveness that comes in handy when trying to navigate through this gauntlet. Senior guard Caroline Corcoran (11.0 ppg.) is the lone player averaging double figures, a testament to RBC’s selfless halfcourt style.

9 Molloy (NYC) 15-6 9

The Stanners are back in the mix in B/Q Division I after upsetting Christ the King and knocking off St. Francis Prep. Next: @  Nazareth (Wednesday, 5:30 p.m.)

10 Irvington (NY) 15-2 10

The Bulldogs ended their regular season with a sour taste, playing poorly (by their standards) against Ossining. However, sometimes a loss can light a fire under a team, and if there is any coach that can get a team to bounce back heading into the playoffs, it’s Gina Maher.

11 Murry Bergtraum (NYC) 19-2 12

Jasmine Nwajei scored 21 points in a 51-47 win over Francis Lewis to end the regular season for the 14-time defending PSAL champions. Next: TBA, PSAL Class AA playoffs

12 IHA (NJ) 20-2 13

The backcourt trio of Taylor Anderson, Caitlin Roche and Samantha Wilkes combined for 36 points to drive top-seeded IHA to a 58-42 triumph over Old Tappan on Sunday in the Bergen County quarterfinals. The Blue Eagles will look to avoid the upset on Saturday at noon when they face Ridgefield Park in the semis.

13 St. Mary's (LI) 16-2 14

The Gaels topped Holy Trinity and St. John the Baptist in close games.

14 South Shore (NYC) 19-3 11

The Vikings ended the regular season with a 44-37 loss to St. Mary’s (Manhasset), but will still be a favorite in the PSAL Class AA playoffs. Next: Bishop Ford @ Gauchos Gym (Sunday, 2 p.m.)

15 St. Anthony's (LI) 14-4 15

The Lady Friars were idle this week.

16 Curtis (NYC) 20-2 16

Geena Rosalbo scored 16 points in a 76-62 win over Tottenville, the 500th of coach Bob Daggert’s career. Next: @ Staten Island Academy (Saturday, 5 p.m.)

17 Lauralton Hall (CT) 15-1 17

A 20-point rout of previously unbeaten Pomperaug was a resounding statement win by the Crusaders.

18 Moore Catholic (NYC) 14-5 18

Tori Crea and Victoria Rubin had 16 points apiece in a 56-40 win over St. Joseph by the Sea last Wednesday. Next: Cardinal Spellman (Saturday, 1 p.m.)

19 Point Pleasant Beach (NJ) 19-0 19

It was rather obvious that transfers Katelynn Flaherty (30.7 ppg.) and Marina Mabrey (24.2 ppg.) were going to improve the Garnet Gulls’ program. But, not sure how many people saw this level elevation coming. The Beach is the seventh seed for the Shore Conference Tournament.

20 St. John Vianney (NJ) 13-9 NR

One of the toughest schedules any team in the Tri-State has faces should have the Lady Lancers primed as they embark on their bid to add to their unmatched collection of 12 Shore Conference Tournament titles as the two seed. The Holmdel school, which is paced by senior guard Lyndsay Rowe (12.5 ppg., 27 3-pointers), has not won the SCT since 2005.
