Live game primer: Harborfields at Long Island Lutheran

MSGVarsity.com Live Access is back is back in action for a premium early season boys basketball matchup.

During the 2011-12 season, LuHi defeated Harborfields twice, so the Tornadoes will have revenge on their minds entering Friday’s contest. Lutheran ended Harborfields last March with a 62-61 victory on an Anthon Pate three-pointer with 1.1 seconds remaining in the Federation Class A final.

So far in the 2012-13 season Long Island Lutheran (5-1) has been on a roll. Their most recent victory came on December 11 against Farmingdale by the final of 61-54. The Crusaders held a ten-point lead at the half, but the third quarter is where LuHi really found its stride with a 23-18 quarter. Kentan Facey finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Tawayne Anderson and Chris Atkinson had 10 points in the game.

Harborfields was unsuccessful in their only game of the season so far. The Tornadoes fell to the hands of Westchester power New Rochelle in the Upstate/Downstate Tournament last Saturday. Chris Brady had 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and five blocks, while Jon Patron had 15 points.

Be sure to check out MSG Varsity’s coverage at 4:30 p.m. as Carl Reuter and Rob Pavinelli will be on the call. The game will be immediately available upon completion of the game, but will also re-air on MSG Varsity Channel 14 on iO on Monday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m.
