MSGVarsity.com live access is back in action for a boys basketball doubleheader. Game 1 will pit Babylon against Bridgehampton in the Suffolk B vs. C/D championship at noon. Immediately following will be the Suffolk Class A final between No. 1 Amityville and No. 2 Harborfields.
In Game 1, Babylon the Class B qualifier comes into the contest after knocking off Southampton, 82-57 in the final on Thursday, February 20. The win for the Panthers gave Babylon its first county title since 1986. Fernando Vazquez scored 30 points and Jake Carlock added 16 points and 13 rebounds in the win.
As for their competition, Bridgehampton who enters as the Class D qualifier edged Shelter Island in their class championship, 53-40, on Valentine’s Day. To claim a spot into this game, Jason Hopson scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Killer Bees over Stony Brook on Wednesday, 54-41.
In what could be one of the best games of the season, No. 1 Amityville and No. 2 Harborfields once again pits the coaching brothers Agostino against each other. Jack Agostino’s Amityville Warriors are perhaps Suffolk County’s best team. On Tuesday, the Warriors blew past Bayport-Blue Point 70-43. Mike Smith had 18 points, Travis Dickerson had 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists while Kavione Green had nine points and 11 rebounds.
On the flip side, Harborfields led by Head Coach Chris Agostino will be looking to make it to the state tournament for the second straight season. In the semifinals, the Tornadoes were led by Jon Patron’s 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 78-42 victory over No. 3 Islip. Their big 6-foot-9 center Chris Brady had eight points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks, while Tom Zazzarino finished with 13 points.

Channel 14 on Wednesday, Feburary 27 at 9:30 p.m. The Suffolk Class A final will air at 7:30 p.m. on the February 27.
