Livecast primer: Ward Melville vs. Brentwood boys soccer

One of the more anticipated boys soccer season on Long Island will take place on MSGVarsity.com Gametime Livecast as Ward Melville takes on the defending Suffolk County champions, Brentwood.

The action will kick off from Brentwood High School at 4:30 p.m.

The Indians have been the unquestioned kings of Suffolk County Class AA boys soccer in recent years, winning the last four county championships. And this year might be no different.

Brentwood has steamrolled through League I this season, going undefeated (5-0, 7-0) and only giving three goals all season.

Its most recent win came in an unusual game where the Indians actually gave up a goal - a 3-1 victory over Sachem East. Sophomore Ever Torres scored two goals, including the game winner in the 33rd minute to lead his team. Kevin Diaz added the other Brentwood tally.

Ward Melville are the new up-and-comers to the top of the Suffolk County boys soccer scene and are also undefeated this seaon in League I (4-0-1, 5-0-2).

The Patriots most recent victory came in very tight 1-0 decision over Sachem North. Anthony Passitore scored the game's only goal 12 minutes into the contest for Ward Melville. Jack Bruckner preserved the shutout in net, making five saves for the victory.
