William Floyd 27, Sachem East 14: William Floyd (1-1) defeated Sachem East (1-1), 27-14, in Suffolk I play. The Flaming Arrows jumped out to an early 6-0 lead with a 57-yard touchdown run by Steve Casali, but A.J. Otranto and the Colonials would respond with an 11-yard touchdown to Jonathan Martinez. Things got tense in the third quarter when Otranto extended Floyd’s lead to 14-6 with a QB keeper at the goal line, but Casali would score on a 5 yard TD run and muscled his way into the end zone for the two-point conversion that tied up the ballgame. However, it was Otranto that would prove to be the difference maker. The senior hit C.J. Banks for a 20-yard go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Iona Prep 30, St. Anthony's 28: Iona Prep (2-0) answered St. Anthony's (0-2) score for score in the first quarter before eventually rallying behind its defense to beat St. Anthony's for the first time since the 2008 CHSFL championship game. The Gaels outgained St. Anthony's 421-277 in the game and won the turnover battle with a forced fumble and recovery by Michael Sullivan in the fourth quarter. The Friars only had 27 yards in the second half. Quarterback Mario Biaggi rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown while throwing for 126. Shaquille Townsend added 119 yards and a touchdown on the ground for the Gaels. Chris Cooper caught five passes for for 102 yards and returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown.
Lawrence 54, Lynbrook 6: Jordan Fredericks had 114 rushing yards and two touchdowns on three carries and 50 receiving yards and two touchdowns on two receptions to lead Lawrence (2-0) over Lynbrook (1-1) in Nassau III. Tyler Fredericks had 177 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Joe Capobianco completed 8 of 10 passes for 150 yards and four touchdowns, including a 38-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Fredericks to open the scoring on the third offensive play for Lawrence, which led 47-6 at the half. Lawrence's starting defense only allowed two first downs. Simon Jones had ten tackles and John Perrone had seven tackles.
West Islip 16, Riverhead 13: Zach Hageman's 36-yard field gold won it for West Islip (2-0) in Nassau II. Dan Johnson carried 26 times for 143 yards and a touchdown and Nick Aponte caught three passes for 42 yards and a score to for West Islip.
Garden City 28, Elmont 7: Brett Stewart hooked up with Justin Guterding for three touchdown passes to lead Garden City (2-0) in Nassau II. The scoring plays covered 7, 20 and 37 yards. Stewart ran for 66 yards and threw for 81 and Guterding, who caught four passes for 80 yards, tied the school record for TD receptions in a game. Elmont is 1-1.
Massapequa 42, Freeport 20: Massapequa (2-0) ended its seven-year losing streak to Freeport (0-2) behind two rushing touchdowns apiece for Nick Capuana and Taylor Bocchiaro, and an interception returned for a touchdown by Capuana in Nassau I.
Mt. Sinai 28, Shoreham-Wading River 0: Mark Donadio ran for 152 yards and a touchdown on seven carries and Danny Kaufman carried five times for 54 yards and a touchdown to lead Mt. Sinai (2-0) in Suffolk IV. Donadio scored on a 70-yard run three plays into the game to five the Mustangs a 6-0 lead. Billy Tartaglia completed scoring passes of 14 and 3 yards to Sal Maresca and Brandon Drumgole to extend the lead to 21-0 in the third quarter. Mike Cortese had eight tackles and a sack, Ryan Clark had four tackles and a sack and Michael Debuccio added five stops and two sacks. In the win. T.J. Burns and Brian Reed had six tackles and Mike Donadio added five tackles and ran in a two-point conversion.
Roosevelt 34, Valley Stream North 7: Johnnie Akins ran for 249 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries to lead Roosevelt (2-0) in Nassau IV. Justin Terry completed three passes--all to Marquell Saunders--for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Valley Stream North is 1-1. Raymond Jones had two sacks, a blocked punt and a fumble recovery on defense.
Seaford 41, Locust Valley 6: Kyle Kolodinsky caught four passes for 130 yards and a touchdown and added a 30-yard touchdown run to lead Seaford (2-0) in Nassau IV. Austin Quiroz had 15 carries for 101 yards and three scores, and James O'Hagan made 11 tackles and had a sack. Zach Antonette added nine tackles, and Ryan Gliganic had seven tackles. Locust Valley is 1-1.
Sayville 21, Islip 0: Sayville improves to 2-0 in Suffolk III. Zach Sirico connected with Starr for a 42 yard touchdown pass. Waters intercepted a pass and took it 13 yards for a fourth quarter score. Selts capped the scoring with a 4-yard run.
Wantagh 21, MacArthur 14: Roddy Roche threw a 12-yard pass to Mike Stack, who caught it with two defenders on him and scored with 3:32 left to give Wantagh (2-0) a 21-14 lead in Nassau II. The score capped a 16-play, 82-yard drive. Wantagh had two possessions in the second half and scored on both. Wantagh opened the third quarter with a 14-play, 80-yard drive that took almost the whole quarter. Brandon Watson scored on a 3-yard run to end the drive and tie the score at 14. Wantagh held MacArthur (1-1) to one first down on the ensuing drive before it turned it over on down. Watson rushed for 161 yards on 14 carries and scored two TDs. Peter Brasile had 15 tackles and Nick English added eight tackles in the win.
Plainedge 31, Manhasset 6: Nick Frenger completed 12 of 17 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 108 yards on nine carries to lead Plainedge (2-0) over Manhasset (1-1) in Nassau III. Frenger connected with John Logan for touchdown passes of 30 and 42 yards. Gianfranco Soriente rushed for 89 yards on 17 carries, including a 3-yard TD run. He also had a 33-yd interception return for a TD that put Plainedge ahead 14-0 in the first quarter and 10 tackles. Joe Bouse had three of Plainedge's eight sacks.
Longwood 28, Brentwood 12: Isaiah White had 107 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries to lead Longwood (2-0) over Brentwood (0-2) in Suffolk I. Elijah Green added 69 yards on 12 carries. Kenneth George had two sacks and Darrell Jones had two interceptions.
Bellport 14, Amityville 12: Nate Chavious rushed for 166 yards on 22 carries and broke free on the outside for a 19-yard touchdown run to cap a seven-play, 4:00 drive in the third quarter that gave Bellport (1-1) a 7-6 lead over Amityville (1-1) in Division III. Justin Tripodi added a 1-yard TD run in the fourth to make it 14-6. Sean Walters connected with Dion Richards on a screen pass for a 26-yard TD with 7:07 left in the fourth to pull Amityville within 14-12. On the ensuing kickoff, Johnathan Jara recovered his own teammate's fumble after a scrum to help preserve possession and the win. Dylan Overton had eight tackles and Connor Cipp had eight tackles and broke-up one pass.
West Hempstead 28, Clarke 16: Tayvon Hall ran for 197 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead West Hempstead (2-0) over Clarke (1-1) in Nassau IV. Quarterback Mike Petrizzo added 117 rushing yards on 10 carries, including a 48-yard touchdown run to put West Hempstead ahead 21-8 with 8:56 remaining in the second quarter. After Clarke pulled to within 21-16 on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Jake Louw to Karl Grgas, Bruce Gibbs had a 38-yard run to set up Enrique McFarlane's 12-yard TD run with 9:48 left in the third to make it a two-score game. Danny Njuko had two sacks.
Great Neck North 7, Roslyn 0: A 40-yard Justin Nasimi run capped a five-play, two-minute, third-quarter drive for Great Neck North. Quarterback Byron Azizi threw for 108 yards in the win. Great Neck North's defense recovered two fumbles. Justin Sedeghat had 11 tackles to lead Great Neck North (2-0) in Nassau V.
Mineola 14, East Rockaway 8: Brian Gaffney made his second interception of the game at midfield with 50 seconds remaining to seal the win and lead Mineola (1-1) over East Rockaway (0-2) in Nassau IV. On a trick play to open the second quarter, Gaffney (130 yards on 18 carries) took the hand off then dropped back and connected with Bobby Rodgers for an 18-yard touchdown pass. On the first play of their next possession, Vinny Bieniek (6-for-10, 190 yards) found Justin Ooman on a play-action pass for a 70-yard touchdown. Danny McClure connected with Joseph Sheridan for an 18-yard touchdown pass with 2:53 left in the game to pull East Rockaway within six.
New Hyde Park 41, Herricks 26: New Hyde Park scored on the first play of game when quarterback Nick Perrone found Paul Reo on a 52-yard touchdown pass. Perrone finished with 193 yards passing and three touchdowns. Christian Trasoline rushed for 115 yards, scored a touchdown and kicked three field goals in the win. Josh Lee intercepted a pass and had five tackles to lead New Hyde Park (1-1) in Nassau II.
Smithtown East 21, Smithtown West 0: Jake Koppelman ran for 85 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries to lead Smithtown East (2-0) in Division II. John Daniggelis went 3-for-12 for 44 yards and a touchdown. Billy Noke had 55 yards on 11 carries. Sam O'Malley led with nine tackles and Mike Kavanagh added seven tackles. Peter Triolo and Jordan Harmon both had an interception. Smithtown East totaled 243 yards of offense, with 182 yards on the ground. Smithtown West was held to 89 yards of total offense.
Port Jefferson 33, Wyandanch 6: Paul Cavanagh had 95 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries and Tyler D'Accardo added 71 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries to lead Port Jefferson (1-0) over Wyandanch (0-2) in Suffolk IV. Matt Taroli sacked the quarterback in the end zone and T.J. Lewis recovered the fumble to put Port Jefferson ahead 13-0 with four minutes left in the first quarter. Justin Jones connected with Taroli, who broke a tackle and scored a 62-yard touchdown to increase the lead to 26-0 with seven minutes to go in the half. Ryan Woodward had two sacks and 11 tackles.
Mercy 35, Southampton 13: Sophomore Reggie Archer ran for a career-high 203 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries to lead Mercy (2-0) in Division IV. Tom Kent had 11 carries for 61 yards and a score. Aisiah Wilson went 4-for-8 for 40 yards and a touchdown. With 8:50 left in the fourth quarter, Jack Strnad forced a fumble recovered by Pat Rossi that led to a 78-yard 7:00 drive capped by a five-yard touchdown run by Paolo Foscolo. Foscolo also had a 60-yard interception return for a score. Pat Marelli led with 10 tackles and Strnad and Foscolo added eight tackles each.
Hewlett 48, North Shore 14: Hewlett took the lead for good after Zach Richman scored an eight yard touchdown with 11:15 left in the first half. The score capped an 80 yard drive for Hewlett. Less than three minutes later, Richman found Jeremy Leguillow on a 48-yard touchdown pass to put Hewlett ahead 20-7. Weldon Irvine had seven tackles to lead Hewlett (2-0) in Nassau III.
Long Island Lutheran 34, Jericho 7: Traishawn Hubbard had 175 yards on seven carries, including first-half touchdown runs of 40 and 22 yards, and Tiquan Garner added 89 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries to lead Long Island Lutheran (2-0) over Jericho (1-1) in Nassau V. Matt Borer, who had five tackles and one interception, completed a 52-yard touchdown pass to Joe Barrios to put Lutheran ahead 28-0 four minutes into the third quarter. Barrios then found Garner on a 42-yard touchdown pass with 6:13 remaining. John Martone had seven tackles and two sacks. Elijah Walters and John Schmitt each had seven tackles and Devante Moore added six tackles.
Plainview-JFK 32, Hicksville 0: Dan Brennan scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter and on a 7-yard run in the second quarter for Plainview JFK (2-0) in Nassau I. Brent Epler scored on a 7-yard run in the third quarter to extend the lead to 19-0 and Dan Desimone rished for 51 yards on six carries with a TD. Alec Abramowitz rushed for a TD and had two interceptions. Max Friedman had 14 tackles, including five for a loss, Nick Laspina had seven tackles and Nick Lioasa recovered three fumbles. Plainview JFK limited Hicksville (0-2) to 42 all-purpose yards and forced five turnovers.
Valley Stream South 31, Division 6: Bryan Providence had 155 yards of total offense and three touchdowns, one passing, one rushing, and one receiving, to lead Valley Stream South (1-1) in Conference III. Providence had 70 yards on seven carries, one catch for 21 yards and completed two passes for 64 yards. Namdi Nwaigwe had a 68-yard punt return for a score. Frank Reichert one catch for 59 yards and a score and recorded an interception to go along with two tackles. Joe Reichert led with six tackles and Chris Infantino added five tackles and three sacks. Anthony Stallone had five tackles and two sacks.
Valley Stream Central 20, Hempstead 12: Laton Butler rushed for 196 yards on 25 carries and scored on a 7-yard run in the first quarter to open the scoring for VSC (1-1) in Nassau I. Deshawn Newton extended the lead to 14-0 with a 56-yard TD run in the first quarter. After Hemsptead (0-2) cut it to 14-12, Newton scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter to cap the scoring. Newton rushed for 86 yards on 19 carries and scored two TDs.
Great Neck South 8, St. Dominic 7: Down 7-0 with 5:00 left in the game, Anthony Pena ran in a four-yard touchdown to cap a 50-yard drive and Ben Lee threw a pass to Mark Spano for a two-point conversion to give Great Neck South (1-1) the win in non-league. With 1:30 left Anthony Lombardo and Jamar Henry stopped St. Dominic's option attempt on fourth down to seal the win. Henry led with 10 tackles and a forced fumble. Lombardo and Salvator Lanzalatta each had seven tackles. Marc Giovaniello and Evan Rabinowitz each had fumble recoveries.
Port Washington 22, Friends Academy 12: James Burns 13-yard touchdown run capped a 60-yard drive and gave Port Washington the lead for good with 8:00 left in first half. Burns finished with 44 yards rushing. Vincent Miscoscia had 10 tackles to lead Port Washington (2-0) in Nassau V.
Bethpage 29, Sewanhaka 20: Chris Feruzza scored on a six yard touchdown run and converted a two-point conversion in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter to put Bethpage up 21-20. Kevin DeCastro had 11 tackles to lead Bethpage (1-1) in Nassau III.
Miller Place 21, Comsewogue 0: Adin Greenfield rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns to lead Miller Place (2-0) over Comsewogue (0-2) in Suffolk III. Brett Osman added 143 yards on 18 carries for Miller Place, which had 330 yards on the ground. Greenfield opened the scoring with an 18-yard TD run with 6:00 remaining in the first quarter. He added an 8-yard TD run on the first drive of the third quarter. Quarterback Ryan Gray ran for a 33-yard touchdown run with 4:20 left in the game. Alex Greenidge had 12 tackles, two for a loss, and Mason Rodriguez had eight tackles, one for a loss.
Cold Spring Harbor 28, Oyster Bay 7: Jordan Walter rushed for 245 yards on 13 carries, including first quarter touchdown runs of 66 and 46 yards, to lead Cold Spring Harbor (1-1) over Oyster Bay (0-2) in Nassau IV. Frankie Stubbolo added 61 yards on nine carries. Luke Barron had eight tackles and Chris Roufanis and Michael Mikkelson each added five tackles. Oyster Bay's Alex Galizia recovered a fumble and returned it 56 yards for a touchdown to cut the Cold Spring Harbor lead to 21-7 with just under two minutes remaining in the half.
Long Beach 42, Carey 20: John Delhantey caught a 57-yard pass from Adam Salvadori with 11:00 left in the third quarter. Salvadori finished the afternoon with 193 yards passing and three touchdowns. J.P Forkin rushed for 143 yards in the win. Matt Firpo had 10 tackles to lead Long Beach (2-0) in Nassau II.
Mepham 27, Bellmore-JFK 7: Mepham took a 10-0 lead on a 37-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Davis to Yianni Hillas with 10:21 left in the third quarter. Davis finished the afternoon with 236 yards passing. Chris Durkin and Joe Aliberti had 5 tackles to lead Mephem (1-1) in Nassau II.
Uniondale 42, Syosset 29: William Stanbach rushed for 257 yards and three touchdowns, including a 53-yard TD run with eight minutes left in the third and a 57-yard TD run three minutes later to help Uniondale (1-1) erase a nine-point deficit and take a 28-23 lead over Syosset (0-2) in Nassau I. Adrian Berry completed 6 of 11 passes for 101 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown to Jason Gordon early in the fourth to make it 34-23. William Jacobs added a 63-yard punt return. Tyler Desire had three sacks and six tackles and Charles Jackson added seven tackles, two for a loss.
North Babylon 32, Centereach 14: North Babylon took a 14-0 lead after Eric Marzocca caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Jake Connor. The score capped an eight play drive. Connor finished the afternoon with 130 yards passing and two touchdowns. Jordan Myers had 8 tackles to lead North Babylon (2-0) in Suffolk II.
Chamiande 48, Fordham Prep 7: Rob Speranza rushed four times for 63 yards and scored touchdowns of 32, 1 and 15 yards in the first quarter to lead Chaminade (2-0) in CHSFL. Speranza was rested in the second half. Quarterback Sean Cerrone was 3-for-4 with 83 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown pass to Chris Gallic in the second quarter. Cerrone also ran for 38 yards.

Farmingdale 21, Baldwin 6: Farmingdale struck first when Matt Dittmeier scored on a five-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Curtis Jenkins rushed for 101 yards on 22 carries. Farmingdale forced two turnovers. Xavier Snabria had an interception and Chad Tomassetti recovered a fumble. Richie Morris and Mike Gregorvic both had nine tackles to lead Farmingdale (2-0) in Nassau Conference I.
Oceanside 36, East Meadow 21: Justin Buckley's 25-yard touchdown run capped a 36-point rally by Oceanside (2-0) in Nassau I. Thomas Capone threw three touchdown passes, two of them to Anthony Pintabona. East Meadow is 1-1.
Newfield 35, Half Hollow Hills West 6: Terrel Perryman scored on touchdown runs of 7 and 3 yards and Jack McKeever scored on runs of 7 and 9 runs to lead Newfield (2-0) in Suffolk II football on Friday night.
Babylon 17, Glenn 14: Alex Malhas kicked a 28-yard field goal with 57 seconds left to give visiting Babylon the victory in Suffolk IV. Nick Santorelli’s 36-yard run highlighted the game-winning drive. Matt Shanerman threw two touchdown passes for Glenn. Babylon is 2-0 while Glenn, winners of the last two Class IV Long Island Championships, is 0-2.
East Islip 41, West Babylon 6: Matt Walter had 67 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries, connected on two field goals and went five-or-five on extra points to lead East Islip (2-0) Friday night in Suffolk II. Casey Nolan completed seven of 11 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown, had 13 carries for 120 yards and also made an interception on defense. Steve Walsh had 10 tackles and an interception to lead the defense. West Babylon is 0-2.
Sachem North 63, Bay Shore 62 (OT): Down 62-55 in overtime, junior Trent Crossan ran an option keep to the right side for a 15-yard touchdown and then converted a two-point conversion with the same play to give Sachem North (2-0) the win in Divison I. Crossan finished with a career-high 22 carries for 279 and a school-record eight touchdowns, according to coach David Falco. Bay Shore (0-2) was down 14 with 4:20 left in the game and then scored on a seven-yard pass by Ryan Mazzie, recovered an onside kick and scored on a six-yard pass by Mazzie as time expired to send the game into overtime. Bay Shore scored on its first possession of overtime on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Mazzie. Senior Tyler Andreassi had a career-high 24 carries for 164 and one touchdown and Malik Pierre added 72 yards on eight carries for Sachem North. Mazzie went 13-for-25 for 181 yards and five touchdowns, Matthias Eato had 22 carries for 127 yards and two touchdowns and McKinnley Skinner had six receptions for 157 yards and three scores for Bay Shore. Andreassi led Sachem North with nine tackles. Sachem North had 509 total yards of offense and Bay Shore had 504.
Kellenberg 46 Holy Trinity 20: Junior Quarterback Kyle Driscoll led Kellenberg (1-0 1-1) to an opening league victory over Holy Trinity (0-1 1-1). Driscoll was 8 for 10, threw for 152 yards and rushed for a TD. Nick Rizzo and Rory Walsh each scored two touchdowns. Matthew Perno's 47 yard TD run gave Kellenberg an 19 - 0 lead early in the second quarter. Billy Meditz 64 yard TD interception in the fourth quarter halted a potential Holy Trinity comeback. Tom Blau led the Firebird defense with 12 tackles and Ryan Williams recorded two sacks.
Westbury 25, Calhoun 23: Malique Merchant found his brother, Shalike, on a 25-yard touchdown pass with three minutes left in Westbury's 25-23 victory over Calhoun. A Calhoun safety with 2:05 left sealed Westbury's first win in eleven games. Malique Merchant finished the night with 112 yards passing. Rayon Sclartt had 9 tackles to lead Westbury (1-1) in Nassau Conference II.
Lindenhurst 37, Central Islip 7: Brad Witkowski went 10-for-14 for 205 yards and two touchdowns to lead Lindenhurst (1-1) in Division I. Mike Rennick had two receptions for 109 yards and two scores. Pete Mangione had eight carries for 101 yards and two touchdowns, one of which was a 59-yard run in the third quarter to cap the scoring. Matt Colton led with eight tackles and Kevin Harvey added seven tackles. Mike Wiese had five tackles and an interception.
Hampton Bays 50, Greenport/Southold 14: Trey Kennedy had 13 carries for 132 yards and two touchdowns to lead Hampton Bays (2-0) in Division IV. Cody Nolan ran 10 times for 84 yards and two scores. Justin Carbone went 4-for-5 for 95 yards, including a 62-yard touchdown pass to Taylor Catz. Catz finished with 105 total yards of offense. Hampton Bays totaled 507 yards of offense, with 11 running backs combining for 392 yards on the ground. Luke Sokal and Nolan led with 12 tackles each. Alex Lane had six tackles and a sack.
Island Trees 28, Malverne 14: Brandon Cassar had nine carries for 237 yards and three touchdowns to lead Island Trees (1-1) in Nassau IV. Cassar also made five tackles and had an interception on defense. Matt Anzalone rushed 20 times for 155 yards and a touchdown, Kevin Strauss made eight tackles, and Eddie Sanchez added seven tackles. Malverne is 0-2.
Deer Park 29, Eastport-South Manor 0: Sophomore Jasawn Thompson rushed for 142 yards on 16 carries and scored on runs of 32, 8 and 28 yards for Deer Park (1-1) in Suffolk III. Thompson had eight solo tackles and four assists. He also had a safety in the first quarter when he tackled the running back in the end zone to give Deer Park a 9-0 lead. Zach Lugo scored on a 38-yard run in the first quarter to open the scoring. He rushed for 62 yards on 10 carries. Thomas Reed had two sacks in the win. Eastport-South Manor is 0-2.
Kings Park 35, Hauppauge 7: Joe Guercio went 8-for-10 for 86 yards and three touchdowns to lead Kings Park (2-0) in Division III. Senior Tom Milich had 26 carries for a career-high 216 yards and two touchdowns. Sean Greer had three receptions for 17 yards and two touchdowns. Kings Park totaled 419 yards of offense. Luke Toscano and Steven Lee led with 10 tackles each. Kings Park forced three turnovers: Guercio and Tom Venier both had an interception and Mike Going recovering a fumble forced by Andrew Winwood.
Stony Brook 20, East Hampton 14: With under 2:00 left and the game tied at 14, Austin Hulse intercepted a pass and ran it back 80 yards for a touchdown to give Stony Brook (2-0) the win in Divsion IV. Don Liotine ran for 118 yards on 12 carries and threw a 75-yard pass for a touchdown late in the 4th quarter and then ran in for the two-point conversion to tie the game at 14. Liotine finished with 254 yards of total offense. Marco Masakayan went 6-for-14 for 117 yards and ran 10 times for 107 yards and a score.
Whitman 28, Copiague 13: Joel Aleman ran 17 times for 85 yards, three touchdowns and a two-point conversion to lead Whitman (1-1) Friday night in Suffolk II. Terhon Legros had eight tackles and an interception.
Ward Melville 46, Half Hollow Hills East 42: Jake Biro scored on a 24-yard run with three minutes to go to lead Ward Melville (2-0) Friday night in Suffolk I. Ward Melville scored 15 points in the final five minutes to erase a 42-31 deficit. Biro completed 11 of 18 passes for 150 yards, two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. He also ran 11 times for 123 yards, two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. Brendan Hagerty carried the ball 11 times for 132 yards and a score as Ward Melville accumulated 475 yards of total offense. Half Hollow Hills East senior R.J. Nitti completed 26 of 40 passes for 471 yards, the fourth highest single-game yardage total in Long Island history. Nitti threw for three touchdown passes and rushed for two more.
Bayport-Blue Point 28, Center Moriches 13: Anthony Preston had 13 carries for 65 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score. Bayport-Blue Point (1-1) in Suffolk IV. Chris Stelling had a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown, and Dario Magnoli returned a fumble 12 yards for a score. Jack Flood had five solo tackles and two sacks.
South Side 19, Floral Park 6: Eric Willie had 24 carries for 154 yards and two touchdowns to lead South Side (2-0) in Conference III. Matt Berry caught a six-yard pass for a touchdown. Berry also had six tackles and an interception. Steven DiMare had seven tackles and an interception. John O'Shea had six tackles and a sack. Paul Pandolfi and Danny Cecere each had a fumble recovery.
Patchogue-Medford 39, Northport 35: Down 35-32 with :21 left in the game, Jack Keough found Connor Coughlin in the back of the endzone for a 27-yard touchdown pass to cap a three-play 80-yard drive and give Patchogue-Medford (1-1) the win in Division I. Coughlin finished with seven catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Keough went 11-for-15 for 226 yards and two scores. Dominic Fucci ran for 102 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and Jake Horton ran for 54 yards and two touchdowns on six carries. Kevin Morrissey had two catches for 54 yards, including a 47-yard reception down the left sideline to set up the winning score. Morrissey, Horton and Dan Tierney combined for 27 tackles.
Glen Cove 48, Carle Place 0: Sean Pan rushed for 104 yards on 12 carries in Glen Cove's Friday night shutout of Carle Place. Quarterback Will Kassar threw two touchdown passes to lead Glen Cove in Nassau III.
Harborfields 27, Westhampton 20: With the game tied at 20 at 8:07 left in the game, Andrew Widmer found Charlie Fellmeth on a crossing route on fourth and goal for a nine-yard touchdown to give Harborfields (1-1) the win in Division III. Westhampton started driving down to Harborfields' 40-yardline, but Tanner Morrow got an interception with 2:00 left to seal to win. Dylan Piscitelli had 25 carries for 106 yards and led with 10 tackles and one interception. Widmer went 8-for-16 for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Dan Stebbins had a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter that tied the game. Harborfields held Westhampton (1-1) to 79 yards on the ground.
Huntington 31, Rocky Point 22: Ben Kocis completed nine of 18 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown and ran six times for 46 yards and a score to lead Huntington (2-0) in Suffolk III. Josh Long had five catches for 106 yards and a touchdown. Pat Reilly converted all four of his extra-point attempts and added a 43-yard field goal and two touchbacks. Levar Butts made 10 solo tackles, including four tackles for a loss. Rocky Point is 1-1.
