NYC top 15 girls soccer teams: week 7

No.1 St. Joseph Hill (12-0-0)

The Hilltoppers finished the regular season with a 0-0 draw against No. 3 Beacon, but played without star midfielder Gianna Smith, who was sick. Goalkeeper Kristy Ricca made 15 saves to preserve the tie.

No. 2 Bronx Science (12-0-0)

The Wolverines enter the postseason off of five straight shutouts, that’s nearly seven hours without conceding a goal. Bronx Science should garner the top seed in the upcoming PSAL playoffs.

No. 3 Beacon (13-0-0)

The Blue Demons closed out the regular season with back-to-back shutouts against LaGuardia and Hunter College HS and, led by Jennifer Angione and Alex Easton, appear poised to defend their PSAL title.

No. 4 Riverdale (13-0-1)

The Falcons have already wrapped up a second straight Ivy League title with a win against Trinity over the weekend. Now, Riverdale is trying to end a second straight regular season undefeated and extend its unbeaten streak, which is currently at 34.

No. 5 McKee/Staten Island Tech (10-0-2)

The Seagulls ended the regular season with back-to-back wins against Curtis and claimed the PSAL Staten Island A division title, which should earn them a top seed in the upcoming PSAL Class A playoffs.

No. 6 Archbishop Molloy (7-5-0)

Are the Stanners on a collision course with Our Lady of Mercy in the CHSAA Nassau/Suffolk Class A final? First, Molloy needs to beat third-seeded Holy Trinity in the semifinals Wednesday.

No. 7 St. Francis Prep (4-8-0)

The Terriers set out to return to the playoffs and it’s mission accomplished. Now St. Francis Prep is looking to reach the semifinals when it takes on St. John the Baptist Wednesday in West Islip.

No. 8 Bayside (10-0-2)

No one scored more goals in the PSAL than D.J. Glazer, who finished with a whopping 51 in just 12 matches. Can the junior continue finding the back of the net at a torrid pace in the postseason? The Commodores playoff lives will depend on it.

No. 9 Christ the King (10-1-2)

The Royals receive a bye into the CHSAA Class AA Brooklyn/Queens final and will take on either Mary Louis or Fontbonne on Nov. 4 at Aviator Sports Complex. But first, Christ the King heads to Staten Island to meet Notre Dame.

No. 10 Mary Louis (5-2-2)

The Hilltoppers are locked in to meet Fontbonne in the B/Q semifinals, but there’s two make-up contests first. That includes a meeting with Moore Catholic on Staten Island Wednesday.

No. 11 Dalton (8-2-4)

Dalton suffered a 1-0 loss at Poly Prep Friday and has a tough test coming up with a trip to Horace Mann to end the regular season. The teams played to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 3.

No. 12 Tottenville (8-1-3)

The Pirates ended the regular season on a positive note, defeating Petrides, 3-0, Monday night in Huguenot as Brianna Castaldo struck twice and Gabriella Amoroso added a goal and an assist.

No. 13 Francis Lewis (9-0-3)

Only two points separated the Patriots from the PSAL Queens A-IV champion Commodores of Bayside. Still, Lewis heads into the playoffs undefeated after shutting out rival Cardozo, 3-0, Sunday.

No. 14 Staten Island Academy (13-2-0)

The Tigers booked their fifth consecutive ticket to the NYSAISAA tournament by locking up the PSAA title with a 4-2 win against Long Island Lutheran Friday. Danielle Fuller had two goals and Gabby Tricorico (two assists) and Monica Valero each had a goal in the win.

No. 15 LaGuardia (10-2-0)

LaGuardia finished second in PSAL Manhattan A-II by beating Stuyvesant, 4-0, Monday as Devan Sconzo, Grace Kaiser, Megan Caccavale and Nevada Raffaele each found the back of the net.
