Katie Ford scored on a header in quadruple overtime as South Side (15-2-4) topped Somers (20-2-1) in the New York State Class A final.

 

SEMI-FINALS

Saturday, November 19

(Sec. 8) South Side 5, (Sec. 6) Williamsville South 2

Julie Beyar scored a hat trick and Christina Klaum scored two goals as South Side defeated Williamsville South in the Class A girls soccer state semifinals Saturday afternoon at Cortland HS. The Cyclones (14-2-4) advance to the finals and will play Somers at 1 p.m. Sunday at Homer HS in neighboring Homer, N.Y.

Christina Klaum scored off a feed from Michaela Lynch to lift South Side to the Long Island Class A girls soccer title. Kelsey Berki had four saves for South Side and Tara Mackey had nine stops for Islip.
