LONG ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
Saturday, June 2 (at Hofstra University)
(S1) West Islip 11, (N2) Syosset 4
West Islip (19-1) defeated Syosset (14-5) in the Class A Long Island Championship at Hofstra. West Islip advances to the state semifinals to face Niskayuna at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hofstra.

FINALS
Wednesday, May 30 (at Stony Brook University)
(1) West Islip 9, (3) Ward Melville 6
Ryan Wieczorek scored two goals with three assists and Jon Reese and Brendan Smith added two goals as West Islip won its ninth straight Suffolk County Class A title at Stony Brook. Jack Kelly made 11 saves for the Lions (18-1) who face Syosset on Saturday at Hofstra for the Long Island title. Jack Bruckner scored three goals for Ward Melville (15-4). West Islip has won 50 straight Suffolk County game.

SEMI-FINALS
Friday, May 25 (at higher seed)
(1) West Islip 10, (4) Sachem North 5
Anthony DeLuca led the way for No. 1 West Islip (17-1) with two goals and three assist in a Suffolk Class A Semifinal. Jack Kelly added 10 saves in the net. West Islip will face No. 3 Ward Melville in the final on Wednesday, May 30th at 5:30pm at Stony Brook.

(3) Ward Melville 13, (2) Smithtown West 9
No. 3 Ward Melville got strong efforts from Jack Bruckner, John Edmonds and Frankie Lucatuorto who each had three goals for Ward Melville in a Class A Semifinal. Ward Melville will face No. 1 West Islip.

QUARTERFINALS
Tuesday, May 22 (at higher seed)
(1) West Islip 9, (8) Northport 3
Anthony DeLuca had a goal and three assists and Jon Reese added three goals to lead No. 1 West Islip (16-1) over No. 8 Northport in a Class A quarterfinal. West Islip hosts No. 4 Sachem North on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
(2) Smithtown West 18, (10) Half Hollow Hills East 4
No. 2 Smithtown West defeated No. 10 Half Hollow Hills East in a Suffolk Class A quarterfinal. The Bulls will play No. 3 Ward Melville in the semifinals on Friday, May 25 at 4 p.m.
(3) Ward Melville 12, (6) Smithtown East 5
Mike Rastivo (1 goal, 4 assists) had a goal and three assists during a 6-1 third quarter for No. 3 Ward Melville (14-3) in a Suffolk Class A quarterfinal. The Patriots play the winner of Smithtown West vs. Hills East in a semifinal on Friday, May 25 at 4 p.m.
(4) Sachem North 11, (5) Bay Shore 10
Cody Petillo had four first-half goals and Jack Gannon contributed four assists as host Sachem North (13-4) hung on to win its Suffolk Class A quarterfinal game. Goalie John Quinn, making his first varsity start, had 12 saves. Griffin Rock scored six goals for Bay Shore (12-6), the last with six seconds left. But the Marauders’ desperate fling at the buzzer was off the mark.
FIRST ROUND
Thursday, May 17 (at higher seed)
(8) Northport 17, (9) West Babylon 6
Brian Cannon and Sean Gilroy each had four goals and two assists to lead No. 8 Northport (11-6) in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Northport will visit No. 1 West Islip in the quarters, Tuesday at 4 p.n. No. 9 West Babylon is 10-7.
(5) Bay Shore 11, (12) Half Hollow Hills West 4
Lucas Rock scored three of his four goals in the first half to lead No. 5 Bay Shore (12-5) in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Bay Shore will visit No. 4 Sachem North in the quarters, Tuesday at 4 p.m. No. 12 Hills West is 9-8.
(6) Smithtown East 8, (11) Walt Whitman 7
Myles Feeney set up Jimmy Tenbrink for the game-winning goal with 3:07 left in the game to lead No. 6 Smithtown East (11-6) in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Brian Balkam stopped 13-of-20 shots. Smithtown East visits No. 3 Ward Melville in the quarters, Tuesday at 4 p.m. No. 11 Whitman is 10-7.
(10) Half Hollow Hills East 13, (7) Sachem East 6
Jesse Parker had six goals and two assists and Dan Bockelman had three goals and two assists to lead No. 10 Hills East (9-6) past No. 7 Sachem East in the Suffolk Class A first round. It is the first playoff win since 2005 for Hills East which advances to play at No. 2 Smithtown West in the quarterfinals at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
