Sunday, June 3 (at Dowling Sports Complex)

(S2) Bay Shore 15, (N1) Farmingdale 14

Bay Shore scored six of the last seven goals to down Farmingdale 15-14 in overtime to win the Long Island Class A girls lacrosse championship.

FINALS

Thursday, May 31 (at Dowling College)

(2) Bay Shore 11, (1) Ward Melville 5

Cynthia DelCore had three goals and an assist to lead No. 2 Bay Shore (16-1) over No. 1 Ward Melville in the Suffolk Class A final at the Dowling Sports Complex. Dylan Teitelbaum made 12 saves in the win. The Marauders will face Farmingdale in the Long Island Championship at 5 p.m. Sunday at Dowling.

SEMI-FINALS

Wednesday, May 23 (at higher seed)

(1) Ward Melville 13, (5) East Islip 5

Ally Tilley had four goals and Emily Rogers-Healion and Kelsey Nagle each had two goals and three assists to lead No. 1 Ward Melville (17-1) in a Class A semifinal. Ward Melville plays the No. 2 Bay Shore winner in the championship, May 31 at 8 p.m. at Dowling. No. 5 East Islip is 13-6.

Carly Cox had four goals and four assists and Cynthia DelCore had four goals to lead No. 2 Bay Shore (17-1) in a Class A semifinal. Bay Shore will play No. 1 Ward Melville in the championship, May 31 at 8 p.m. at Dowling. No. 6 West Islip finishes the season 12-7.

QUARTERFINALS

Monday, May 21 (at higher seed)

(1) Ward Melville 17, (8) Middle Country 9

Emily Rogers-Healion had six goals and two assists and Ally Tilley had five goals and one assist to lead No. 1 Ward Melville (16-1) over No. 8 Middle Country in the quarterfinals of the Suffolk Class A Playoffs. Ward Melville will face No. 5 East Islip in the semifinals on Wednesday at Ward Melville at 4 p.m.

(2) Bay Shore 17, (7) Sachem East 7

Sophomore Kyra Harney celebrated her 16th birthday with four goals and five assists as No. 2 Bay Shore (16-1) defeated No. 7 Sachem East in a Class A quarterfinal. Bay Shore will host West Islip in the semifinals on Wednesday, May 23 at 4 p.m.

(6) West Islip 17, (3) West Babylon 11

Senior Erin Byrnes scored a school-record nine goals and added an assist to lead No. 6 West Islip (12-6) over No. 3 West Babylon (13-2) in a Class A quarterfinal. West Islip scored seven consecutive goals in the second half to put the game away. West Islip will face Bay Shore in the semifinals on Wednesday, May 23 at 4 p.m.

(5) East Islip 8, (4) Northport 7

Nicole Levy had 2 goals and 2 assists, while Victoria Gregson and Jackie Niciforo each had 2 goals a piece. Krista Ancona made 8 saves as No. 5 East Islip topped No. 4 Northport in the Suffolk Class A Quarterfinals.

 

FIRST ROUND

Friday, May 18 (at higher seed)

(8) Middle Country 17, (9) Half Hollow Hills 15

Nikki Ortega had four goals and two assists, Lauren Young stopped 17 shots and Rosie Neiva scored a goal and had five draw controls on defense to lead No. 8 Middle Country (10-7) in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Middle Country will visit No. 1 Ward Melville in the quarters, Monday at 4 p.m. No. 9 Half Hollow Hills is 6-10.

(5) East Islip 16, (12) Patchogue-Medford 9

Victoria Gregson had seven goals and Nicole Levy added a goal and four assists for fifth-seeded East Islip (12-5) in a Suffolk Class A first-round game. The Redmen play No. 4 Northport in a second-round game on Monday at 4 p.m. Lisa Olen added three goals and an assist and Elizabeth Vetter had three goals in the win.

(6) West Islip 9, (11) William Floyd 8

Kylie Nowicki scored off a feed from Cara Douglas with 1:55 left to give No. 6 West Islip (11-6) a 9-6 lead in a Suffolk Class A first-round game. West Islip plays at No. 3 West Babylon in a second-round game on Monday at 4 p.m.Lorraine Hodgson had three goals and Erin Byrnes added two scores for West Islip. Courtney Murphy led Floyd with six goals and two assists.

Casey Gelderman had four goals to lead No. 7 Sachem East (12-5) over No. 10 Smithtown West in the first round of the Suffolk Class A Playoffs. Sachem East will face No. 2 Bay Shore in the quarterfinals on Monday at Bay Shore at 4 p.m.
