Suffolk County Class AA softball brackets
LONG ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP
Tuesday, June 5 (at Mitchel Field)
(N1) MacArthur 16, (S4) East Islip 2
Kristen Brown went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, including a leadoff home run to straightaway center to make it 5-1 in the second as MacArthur captured the Long Island Class AA championship at Mitchel Athletic Complex. Briana Lombardo went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Jena Cozza went 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Kaitlyn Fitzsimmons went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. It's MacArthur's second title since 1988. Brown also tossed a complete game, allowing seven hits with five strikeouts.

Game 1 - East Islip 12, Longwood 4
Alyssa Garneman had four of her teams 18 hits, driving in two RBI's in No. 4 East Islip Game 1 Class AA Finals victory. Alexa Martino went 2-for-4 with two RBI's and Faith Padro added two hits as well with two doubles and two runs scored. Game 2 is Thursday, May 31st at East Islip.
Game 2 - Longwood 6, East Islip 3
Noel Lent threw a five hitter as No. 2 Longwood (21-2) won Game 2 of the Suffolk Class AA championship to even the series at 1-1. The deciding Game 3 will be played, Friday at Longwood at 2 p.m.
Game 3 - East Islip 6, Longwood 5
Courtney Blake pitched a complete game and Shelby Heyward had the game-tying RBI single in the top of the seventh to lead No. 4 East Islip (21-5) to their first Suffolk Class AA championship. No. 2 Longwood is 21-3.
SEMI-FINALS
Saturday, May 26 (at higher seed)
(4) East Islip 4, (1) Bay Shore 3
Kelsey Fileccia hit the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the fifth inning, breaking a 3-3 tie to give No. 4 East Islip (19-4) an upset victory over No. 1 Bay Shore (20-1) in a Suffolk Class AA Semifinal game. East Islip will face No. 2 Longwood in the championship final.
(2) Longwood 10, (11) Connetquot 6
Noel Lent had a three-run homer and Samantha Valentine pitched 6 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball in relief as No. 1 Longwood (20-1) overcame a 6-0 deficit in the first inning against top-seeded Connetquot in a Suffolk Class AA semifinal. Longwood will host No. 4 East Islip in the final on Tuesday.
QUARTERFINALS
Thursday, May 24 (at higher seed)
(1) Bay Shore 7, (8) Eastport-South Manor 0
Michelle DeVito pitched a five-hitter with seven strikeouts. Courtney Syrett(1-3) had a solo home run in the third-inning and Giana Panariello (3-4) had a double and a triple, plus two runs batted in for No. 1 Bay Shore in a Suffolk County Class AA Quarterfinal.
(2) Longwood 8, (10) West Islip 3
Alex Russo (2-for-4) provided the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 4th with an RBI single. Stephanie Worth and Audrey Miller both went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI's for No. 2 Longwood in a Class AA Quarterfinal. Longwood will face Connetquot in the Class AA Semifinals.
(11) Connetquot 5, (3) Half Hollow Hills West 4
Angela Schuler had two hits and an RBI and Erin Sweeney went 2-for-3 to lift No. 11 Connetquot in a Suffolk Class AA quarterfinal win over third-seeded Hills West. Casey Shannon stole third base and scored on an error to give Connetquot a 5-3 lead. Connetquot survived a scare in the bottom of the seventh as Angela Giangregorio caught a fly ball for the second out and helped start a run-down for the final out of the game. Connetquot will play at the winner of Longwood vs. West Islip in a semifinal on Saturday at 2 p.m.
(4) East Islip 3, (5) Commack 2
Shelby Heyward hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first to give No. 4 East Islip (18-4) a 2-0 lead in a Suffolk Class AA quarterfinal. Faith Padro added a run-scoring double to make it 3-0 for East Islip. The Redmen play at No. 1 Bay Shore in a semifinal at noon.
FIRST ROUND
Tuesday, May 22 (at higher seed)
(8) Eastport-South Manor 11, (9) Smithtown East 4
Nina Gaita went 3-4 with three runs and Jackie Chester went 2-3 with two RBIs to lift No. 8 Eastport-South Manor past No. 9 Smithtown East in a Class AA first-round game. Hope Brenkert was 1-3 with an RBI triple in the third inning that broke a 3-3 tie. Eastport-South Manor advances to play Bay Shore in the quarterfinal Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

Kiersten Carlomagno pitched a five-hitter with six strikeouts and went 2-3 at the plate with a double and three RBIs to lift No. 5 Commack (17-4) over No. 12 Sachem East in a Class AA first-round match. Dominique Zummo went 3-4 with a two-run home run in the sixth inning, three RBIs and two runs scored. Commack will play No. 4East Islip, Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

Kelsey Fileccia went 1-2 with a three-run home run in the third inning and three runs scored, and Heather Zenk was 2-4 with two RBIs. East Islip will host No. 5 Commack in the quarterfinal.
(11) Connetquot 8, (6) Smithtown West 3
Lizzy Frayler went 2-for-2 with three walks and three runs and Casey Shannon had two hits and four RBIs for No. 11 Connetquot (14-7) over No. 6 Smithtown West in a Suffolk Class AA first-round game. Angela Giangregorio went 4-for-4 with two RBIs in the win. Connetquot plays at No. 3 Half Hollow Hills West in the second round on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Annie Grabinsky and Marissa Motisi scored on a two-out, two-run single by Gaby Cinquemani in the top of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie and lift No. 10 West Islip over No. 7 Hauppauge in a Class AA first-round game. Motisi finished 2-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. West Islip will play at Longwood Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
