***It didn't take long for the Bergen County Tournament to produce its first upset as New Milford stunned Indian Hills, 5-3, in the first round. This is an upset of monumental proportions as New Milford came in as the No. 28 seed. New Milford is believed to be the lowest seed to ever win a Bergen County Tournament game.

***The most exciting County Tournament semifinal so far hs to be Watchung Hills dramatic 10 inning 9-8 victory over Bridgewater-Raritan. The Warriors scored the winning run on a perfectly executed suicide squeeze bunt laid down by Gina Priore. The bunt enabled Steph Huff to score the winning run and sent Watchung to the Somerset County Championship this Saturday vs. Hillsborough.

***The top game in North Jersey this week is scheduled for Thursday when No. 10 Chatham visits No. 11 Whippany Park . Both the Cougars and the Wildcats were knocked out of the MCT in the semifinals. This should be a great pitcher's duel between Chatham's Amanda Fazio and Whippany Park's Jenn Sanislo.

***Last week's player of the week award goes to Pequannock's senior rightfielder Ally Thomas, who blasted two solo homers over the center field fence, propelling the Golden Panthers to a 2-1 victory over Morris Knolls in the MCT Final.

It was Pequannock's fourth straight Morris County title, tying a mark set by Whippany Park between 1989-1992.
