Robert Trombetta and Nutley look to continue their torrid streak when taking on Passaic Valley in a much-anticipated wrestling showdown on Tuesday.
The match, which is slated to begin at 7 p.m., will be live-streamed exclusively on MSGVarsity.com.
Trombetta is 13-1 this season at 112 pounds and aims to improve on his stellar 89-12 career mark.
The standout junior, only the third wrestler to earn a state medal in the program’s last four years, finished seventh last season at the NJSIAA state tournament upon clinching the District 14 title. He also placed third in Region 4.
The Maroon Raiders, who enter 11-1 on the campaign, are fresh off a 54-13 thrashing of Garfield on January 13.
Meanwhile, Passaic Valley also comes in boasting a strong 8-2 record. The Hornets, however, hope to erase a 36-32 setback to North Bergen on Saturday.
They are paced by a strong core of Nick Pezzano (138), Anthony Cruz (106), Edwin Aristizabal (120) and Kerem Ozgerek (195).
