1. St. Patrick Boys Basketball
The Celtics are in cruise control; they crushed Scotch Plains in the Union County Quarterfinals (100-62). St. Patrick has won 28 straight games and will aim for the Union County title this weekend, before setting its sights towards St. Anthony.
2. St. Anthony Boys Basketball
The Friars tuned up for the state tournament by knocking off a formidable St. Peter's squad in the Dan Finn Classic. St. Anthony's super-smooth backcourt combo of Kyle Anderson and Myles Mack combined for 31 points.
3. Shabazz Girls Basketball
The Bulldogs remain the No. 1 girls hoops team in the state at 24-0. Aleysha Lovett sparkled with 23 points in the county semifinals. Shabazz will now face rival University for the fourth time this season with the county title on the line.
4. Delbarton Hockey
The Green Wave head into the Gordon Cup semifinals after disposing arch-rival Seton Hall Prep in the quarters this past weekend. Chad Otterman's hat trick performance helped Dellbarton capture win No. 19.
5. CBA Winter Track
The Colts set several records in the Non-Public A State championships, defeating Union Catholic, 99-37. CBA captured its state record 16th state title and tallied a meet record 99 points in the process.
6. Teaneck Boys Basketball
The Highwaymen have now won 21 straight games. Teaneck took care of Hackensack by 22 in the Bergen Jamboree Semifinals. Junior forward Chris Jones will lead Teaneck into the Jambo Final against (18-5) Don Bosco Prep.
7. Morris Knolls Hockey
The (19-1-3) Golden Eagles handled an outstanding Chatham team easily in the Mennen Cup Semifinals. Dillon Garrity, Billy Kostecki and Jack Monahan each scored two goals to lead Knolls to the 8-3 win. The Eagles will now skate against Mo-Beard Thursday in a rematch of last year's Mennen Final.
8. Neptune Girls Basketball
The Scarlet Fliers will be challenged this week as they meet Pt. Pleasant Boro in the Shore Conference Semifinals. Syessence Davis and Shakeena Richardson will need to play at the top of their game with St. John Vianney or St. Rose waiting in the wings.
9. Bridgewater-Raritan Boys Swimming
The Panthers took the No. Jersey Section 2 crown, knocking off powerful Westfield 93-77. Bridgewater will now swim in the state Public "A" semifinals against Bayonne.
10. Morristown-Beard Girls Ice Hockey
The Crimson's 6-1 win over Portledge, N.Y. gave Mo-Beard its third Mid-Atlantic title in the last four years. Morristown-Beard finished a perfect season at 18-0.
