Girls Swimming 

Summit 97, West Essex 73

Summit slipped past West Essex in a 97-73 victory on Thursday afternoon. Kristen Fedor, Kelly Delaney and Tasha Kewalramani each swam to first in individual events for the Hilltoppers. Valerie Panza swam to victory in the 500-meter Freestyle in 5:52.2 for the Knights, while Ally Barth won the 200 IM. Summit’s 200-Medley Relay team finished first in 2:07.45, pushing its record to 8-2. West Essex sinks to 1-6.

Ridge 106, Bernards 64

Ridge defeated Bernards, 106-64 to win its third meet of the season. The Red Devils, Kristina Cheung swam a 2:07.58 to finish first in the 200-meter Freestyle race. Teammates, Kate Bradley, Kristyn Julian, Sarah Valente, and Amanda Wachenfeld won the 200-Meldey Relay race in 2:00.37 for Ridge. Bernards sinks to 4-5 and faces Watchung Hills on February 8. Scotch Plains 99, St. Peter’s Prep 71

St. Peter’s Prep dropped its first meet back since the passing of senior B.J. Giannone on Monday, January 31, to Scotch Plains , 99-71. Giannone was remembered and celebrated by both teams before entering the pool. The number 17 Marauders, Will Brown won the 50 and 100 Freestyle in season best times, in 21.93 and 47.78 respectively. Mike Napolitano swam to first in the 200-meter Freestyle and anchored the winning 200 and 400-meter Freestyle Relay teams for the Raiders. Joe Dunn helped the 7 Scotch Plains team improve to 10-1, by winning the 100 Butterfly. St. Peter’s Prep drop to 9-3-1.

Morristown 117, Parsippany 53

Morristown sinks Parsippany, 117-53 on Thursday afternoon improving its record to 8-2. Gregory Macchia won the 200-meter Freestyle in 2:07.31 for the Colonials, and also won the 500-meter Freestyle in 4:53.41. The Red Hawks, Caleb Chia, took the 100-meter Butterfly and the 200-IM. Morristown’s Tom Johnson finished first in the 100-Meter Freestyle. Parsippany falls to 1-5 on the season.
