State sectional champions Piscataway and Sayreville send four standouts each to the Middlesex squad and Cranford will have five representatives on the Union team when the two counties battle in the 19th annual Snapple Bowl at 7 p.m. Thursday at East Brunswick High.

Guard Temi Adebayo, two-way end Shawn Hall, DE/FB Beniah Harrigan and wideout Mubeen Quraishi all helped Piscataway rebound from a 1-2 start last fall to finish 10-2 and capture its second consecutive North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 title. The Chiefs won the crown with a thrilling 41-34 victory over an Elizabeth team that will have four representatives in tomorrow's game, DL Desmond Haynes, LB Donnell Hubbert, DL Pat Jones and DB Jermaine West.

Sayreville (10-2) dropped a 28-0 regular-season game against Piscataway, but closed the season with four straight wins, including a 23-11 decision over Manalapan to snare its second straight Central Jersey, Group 4 championship. Nose guard Ismail Herring, safety Teju Ishola, LB Craig Switzer and LB Alex Yannuzzelli were all valuable contributors to that Sayreville title.

Cranford won its first-ever championship last fall with a 27-0 victory over Parsippany Hills for North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 honors. Linebackers J.P. Christian and Anthony DaSilva, DB Eric Gargiulo, DL T.J. Nichols and WR Chris Witwick were all pivotal to that cause.

Union County QB Diijon Allen-Jordan will snap on the chinstrap for the final time four months after guiding the Plainfield basketball team to a second consecutive Group 3 title and second straight appearance in the Tournament of Champions final. The versatile forward will continue his basketball career at Western Oklahoma State College along with Cardinals teammate Jahmal Lane.

Union won the Snapple Bowl last year, 28-6, to end a run of five straight victories by Middlesex, which holds a 10-8 advantage in the series.
