PVHS: Coach Mazzo inducted to New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Hall of Fame
Passaic Valley varsity head coach John Mazzo was recently inducted into the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held on Sunday, March 25 at the Pine Manor in Edison.
Mazzo has been coaching at Passaic valley for ten years and has a record of 164-126-1 in his tenure. Since he became head coach, Mazzo has put the PV baseball program on the map. “It feels amazing to be recognized for all your hard work and dedication to the many student athletes that I have come in contact with over the past 20 years as a head coach,” Mazzo said. “The legacy I hope to leave behind at PV is I hope I have made a difference in all the players’ lives that have played for me."

A Division III National Champion at Rowan University, state champion in high school, 1993 Hudson County Coach of the Year, and a County champion in 2007, coach Mazzo has spent his life being a winner and refuses to lose. Notoriously known for his high standards, coach Mazzo expects the best every season.
