Jordan Walode scored 17 points and hit five 3-pointers as Wayne Valley cruised past Kennedy, 53-43, in a battle of Passaic County foes on Thursday evening in Paterson.

Liam Connors scored 13 points, while Adam Brody contributed 12 and Andrew Keane eight for the Indians, who suffered a 72-59 loss to the Knights on Monday in the Passaic County quarterfinals.

Wayne Valley trailed by two after the third quarter, but constructed a 10-0 run that spanned over the first three minutes of the fourth to create enough separation for the win.

Though this contest didn't contain such high stakes, Wayne Valley took advantage of a great opportunity to prepare for the state playoffs. The Indians knocked the Knights out of the first round of the NJSIAA North 1 Group 3 tournament last season.

Wayne Valley entered having lost two of three contests, suffering setbacks to DePaul and Kennedy, but seemed to find the chemistry that helped the team rattle off nine straight prior to the recent sluggish stretch.

Jamire Grant led the way with 12 points for Kennedy, which secured its spot to take on No. 2 DePaul in the competitive county's Final Four on Saturday at 2 p.m. It will face either No. 1 Eastside or No. 4 Passaic in the championship game if it gets by this weekend.

Hassan Towns and Justin Kinchen each contributed nine, while freshman point guard Alphonso Gee chipped in eight.
