On Christmas morning, Brian Connolly opened up a small, narrow box under the tree. Inside was a navy blue and orange-striped neck tie. Typically a forgettable gift, Connolly knew the colors had a certain significance.

The Ossining senior quarterback was able to knot the tie on Wednesday morning, which matched his navy-and-orange Bucknell baseball cap as he signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Bison.

Connolly, who committed to play at Bucknell in the summer, had family, administrators and the Pride coaching staff in attendance as he signed at an early morning morning.

“I slept really well last night,” Connolly said. “I’ve been thinking of this day since the summer.”

Connolly, a 6-foot-4, 200-pounder, was a two-year starter for Ossining. He threw 20 career touchdowns and passed for 955 yards as a senior, leading the Pride to the Section 1 Class A semifinals.
