WEST NYACK, N.Y. — In a matchup between cross-town rivals Clarkstown South and Clarkstown North on Saturday afternoon, the host Vikings reigned supreme.
Clarkstown South (10-5) — which led just 3-2 after the first quarter — outscored Clarkstown North 13-0 over the final three quarters of play to grab a convincing 16-2 victory.
The Vikings have now won 16 straight games against the rival Rams.
Stephen Morris paced Clarkstown South's offense with four goals. Liam Cummings (2G, 3A), Ryan Jelen (1G, 3A) and Joseph Buzzetti (1G 3A) also had big games.
For Clarkstown North, sophomore Maurice Murphy and junior Anthony Termine notched one goal apiece.
The Vikings were coming off a 19-12 loss to powerhouse Yorktown, so it was nice to get back on track.
"It was a tough game, but we just regrouped and stayed to our game today," said Clarkstown South goalie Kris Alleyne, who made eight saves.
Overall, possession was the biggest factor in the win. Dominating in faceoffs and shots, Clarkstown South was able to control the play and forced its game on North.
The Rams (5-10) will look to regroup in their regular season finale against North Rockalnd on May 14. Clarkstown South will look to keep it going against Suffern on May 15.
