Stepinac hockey readies for coming season
It’s that time of year again that hockey players and hockey fanatics look forward to. Stepinac hockey players are excited to get back on the ice and participate in another thrilling season.
Coach Hogan expects this year’s team to build off of last year’s performance. “I think the varsity team will file off the success of last season and I also think if we keep up the good work ethic from last year we’ll jump on to an early success,” he said.
Senior hockey players are planning on leading the team back to the playoffs to defeat any team that dares to hinder their victorious scenarios. Coach Hogan looks forward to seeing how the seniors perform in their new roles.
“We were excited when they [the seniors] were freshmen,” Coach Hogan said. “It will be exciting to see after three years if they step into the spotlight.”
The coach knows the upperclassmen on the team will have to step up when the postseason arrives. “The players and most of all, the seniors, can only decide our fate in the playoffs.”
“We are definitely ready for another competitive year,” said A key player, Dillon Tracy, a member of the team. “If our impact players contribute leadership and perseverance then we’ll be right back in the championship.”
